About Queen City Volleyball

QCVC (located in Regina, Saskatchewan) was started in 2005 by Doris Harrison and Geronda Schaeffer, two Moms who were looking for an opportunity for their daughters to continue playing volleyball once their school season ended. We wanted a place where the girls could have fun playing volleyball with their peers, in an atmosphere that would develop their skills and foster a love for the sport.

The first season of our club’s existence included recreational volleyball for 24 girls. Since then we have expanded our developmental programs, established age-class teams and our membership has grown in leaps and bounds. As a non-profit organization, our mission is to provide as many athletes as possible the opportunity to play volleyball. In 2010 we created our QC Royal program – providing high level athletes with an opportunity to develop their skills and compete with other athletes of similar caliber. In 2011, we held evaluations for Division 1 teams to complement our high performance program, and in 2015 QCVC held developmental sessions for six groups and had 24 competitive teams – 15 in our 14U and 15U Divisions alone!

QCVC continued to focus our efforts on the grassroots development of volleyball athletes with the introduction of Mini Volleyball and an expanded Atomic Volleyball program in 2012.

In 2014, we implemented a new Royal program, bringing together the top 24 athletes in our 14U age division.  This allowed for the new Royal Elite and new Royal Black teams to train together and share skill development from multiple coaches.  In 2016, we continued to develop our High Performance Program by rolling out a High Performance program and Competitive program for 14U and 15U.

In the 2017/18 season, we separated the needs of our High Performance Teams and League Play teams and paired up with ICP League play for our Competitive Volleyball Program.  This allowed for more play and less costs to our volleyball families.

In the 2020/2021 season we introduced the 16U-18U Royal Elite program.  This program is the top team in each of those age divisions with the goal to be a Tier 1 team.  We also still have our Royal program for the 13U-18U age divisions.  We look forward to providing quality programs for ALL athletes.

Coaches

All coaches for each age category are qualified per standards set by the Saskatchewan Volleyball Association. QCVC supports the growth and development of our coaches through NCCP certification as well as programs offered through our club. In 2010 we were the proud recipients of the Chevrolet Club Coaching Grant.

QCVC is always looking for experienced coaches or coaches who want to give back to QCVC by volunteering your time. If you would like more information please contact president@queencityvolleyball.com
