Developmental Programs

The goal of QCVC’s developmental programs is to create a positive, affordable environment where newer players can develop their volleyball skills, build their confidence on the court and have some fun. Many of the participants from our atomic programs go on to play on their elementary and/or high school volleyball teams and almost all move on to the club’s competitive program.

There are lots of programs listed on here!

Smashball - Learn to Train (formerly Atomic Program) (open to boys and girls)

The new Volleyball Canada Smashball-Learn to Train is a great tool for teaching children the basics of the sport and getting them ready for the more complex 6 on 6 game when they are older.

As a companion program to Volleyball Canada’s successful FUNdamentals, the Learn to Train continues to build on these concepts. This program focuses on fair play, skill development, teamwork and most of all a rewarding game-play experience. Its larger goal is to develop a passion for the sport in the younger players of the game!

The Learn to Train program can be incorporated into any physical education class, volleyball club or community program. It incorporates principles established in the Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L) athlete development model for Learning to Train Stage athletes.

Smashball Learn to Train is for athletes in Grades 4 to 6 and is an 8 week co-ed program.
